  25. I have the internal Sportster with ROM date 9/19/95 (by ATI7) running in a PC, 
  26. and it exhibits the same problem.  Given a steadily busy line, it may report 
  27. BUSY-BUSY-BUSY-NO CARRIER-BUSY-NO CARRIER-NO CARRIER-BUSY.

  29. It seems as though there is something marginal in the busy detection hardware 
  30. or software.  I cannot perceive any difference in the tone or loudness of the 
  31. busy signal, nor any interfering noise on the line, through the speaker.
